This week on Wildlife Weekly, host Jackie Edmunds explains Avian Conjunctivitis. The disease effects birds, mostly within the Finch family. The symptoms are similar to pinkeye in humans. If you see a bird that appears to have AC, you should try to contain it and contact your local rehabilitation center. Humans can’t get the disease, but it is contagious between birds. If an infected bird is seen in the area, you should take care to clean out your feeders and birdbaths to prevent other birds from catching the disease. Project Feederwatch is a bird tracking website that anyone can contribute to. The Dane County Human Society can be contacted at (608)287-3235
