This week on Wildlife Weekly, host Jackie Edmunds of the Dane County Humane Society, talks to us about the effects the recent storms have had on the local wildlife.
The storms have caused many animals that are injured, drowned, or sick to come into the rehabilitation center. Some of the animals include a Red-tailed hawk that had a fracture in its pelvic area, a toad with a swollen eye, and many baby squirrels that fell from trees and failed to re-nest.
If you are interested in volunteering at a facility like Jackie’s at the Dane County Humane Society. The recruitment period is from January to April every year, but options for Wildlife Reception is available. You can sign up here. If you find an injured or sick animal make sure to call the Dane County Humane Society at (608) 287-3235.
