It’s becoming an increasingly common site in rural Wisconsin, yard signs saying “No CAFOs” or “Save our Water.” As Election Day looms near, many of those issue signs have been joined by candidate signs. With a growing perception that Governor Walker’s “Open for Business” Department of Natural Resources is soft on water polluters, water issues are becoming a hot political topic in Wisconsin, particularly in the central and northeastern portions of the state.
