Earlier today, the state Assembly unanimously approved overhauling the state’s ailing unemployment insurance system. From here, the bill heads to the desk of Governor Tony Evers — who has indicated he will sign it.
But, the changes coming to the state’s unemployment system are far overdue for many Wisconsinites, some of whom have had unfilled unemployment requests for months.
And even when those long-term changes do come through, will they be enough?
