As we approach the 50th anniversary of Title IX, today guest host Liz DiNovella and sports journalist Julie DiCaro discuss the latest news in women’s sports, including this year’s historic NCAA women’s basketball tournament, Brittney Griner’s detainment in Russia, and the U.S. women’s soccer equal pay lawsuit.
They also talk about how far we have—and haven’t—come since Title IX was enacted. “We’re so behind in terms of the access that the general public has to women’s sports,” says Julie DiCaro. “Let’s dump the same amount of time, money, and effort into women’s sports [as men’s] for fifty years and then see where we are.”
