We are really looking forward to this evolution of the WORT Block Party, which has been an annual WORT celebration since 1998. In 2013 we moved the Block Party to Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and continued the tradition of great live music in a wide range of genres, food and craft vendors, and a great rotating selection of beverages from the Madison Homebrewers and Tasters Guild. In 2020, we had plans to reinvent the Block Party as WORTstock and hold it in Warner Park on Madison’s north side. The Covid pandemic, unfortunately, put those plans on hold.
We have been holding our breath through the pandemic (quite literally), and are excited to announce the September 12th date in Warner Park. We are keeping an eye on recommendations from the Department of Public Health and the Madison Parks Department for public gatherings. Please stay tuned to WORT 89.9FM and wortfm.org for updates. Hang in there until we can all be together to celebrate Madison’s Community Radio Station safely.
