Tuesday’s election saw a tight race between Republican candidates for Governor Tim Michels and Rebecca Kleefisch. Some see the deciding factor in that race is that Kleefisch did not perform as well as expected in three key counties in southeastern Wisconsin.
The WOW counties, Waukesha, Ozaukee, and Washington counties, had heavily voted for Walker in the past. But Michels’ unexpected surge in these three counties can point to a larger shift in Republican politics in Wisconsin.
