Two of the perennial bright spots in the dark Madison winters will be soon upon us: the 29th annual Folk Ball on January 27th — this year in the unfamiliar locale of Union South — and Yid Vicious’ 22nd traditional Groundhog Day — or close enough, February 4th — concert at Mother Fools Coffeehouse . Approaching its twenty second year, Madison’s favorite “kick-ass klezmer band” Yid Vicious has shown no signs of slowing down. A quartet of the Yid Vicious sextet join the Buzz and Brian Standing live in the studio: fiddler Daithi Wolfe, tubaist David Spies, accordionist and French horn player Kia Karlen and percussionist Geoff Brady.
