Lilada Gee hosts a dynamic panel of Black young men, all of whom were born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin. They each have different experiences, but a common consciousness about what it means to grow-up as a Black male in Madison. Guests include Barry Tucker Jr., Dezmond Chest, Jayton Lee Scott, Immanuel Oby, Tuffy Brown, and Christian Gee-Lewis.
Twenty-two year old Jayton Lee Scott describes himself as a loving father of 2, and a fiance. He says, he is a man that stands for equality and fairness. He is open minded and honest with everyone. And he is always striving to be better in every way everyday. He enjoys going out to eat with his family, playing basketball,swimming and molding his household to be the best they can be.
Immanuel Oby is 21 years old. Born and raised in Madison, WI by two local pastors. He enjoys being a home-body, working out and spending time with friends. He describes himself as an ambitious, hardworking, God-driven, student athlete. He started his college career at the UW-Baraboo. He currently attends Concordia College in Chicago, where he plays basketball and leads faith groups on campus.
Tuffy Brown, 23, was born in Pomona, CA, but raised in Seattle, Washington. He enjoys playing basketball with his friends. He currently attends Green River College in Washington. When asked to describe himself, he said that “words can’t explain. He is just that awesome.”
Christian Gee-Lewis, Lilada’s son, has an off and on mid-west/west coast living experience between Madison and Washington since he was in the 3rd grade. He has had the opportunity to travel throughout the U.S. during family trips to experience more culture and energies of other cities. He is currently playing basketball for Pierce College in Washington. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing basketball, playing Xbox and going to the movies. He describes himself as independent, ambitious, hard-working and goal-driven.
