Dr. Katie Hilst, of Journeys Home Pet Euthanasia LLC, speaks with us about our pets’ quality of life, pending end of life, how such a life would be ended, and how we might feel about it (It’s all right.) Dr. Katie examines the acronym JOURNEYS and takes us through the different ways to learn from our pets how they are feeling and whether they need help. JOURNEYS stands for Jumping or Mobility, Ouch or Pain, Uncertainty and Understanding (factors that affect YOU). Respiration or Breathing, Neatness or Hygiene, Eating and Drinking, You, and Social ability.
She also talks about dog and human cancer research and upcoming events: the PuppyUp fundraising dog walk and Remembering Our Pets.
